Trash & Recycling Information:
The Hinckley Trash & Recycling contract (beginning in February of 2025) has been awarded to Rumpke as of the Trustee regular meeting on December 3rd, 2024.
- Rumpke Fuel Surcharge for this quarter (Aug-Sept-Oct): $6.17 additional for the quarter for full service and $2.48 additional per quarter for the bag service.
- Rumpke full service for trash & recycling cost will be $24.95 / month = $74.85 per quarter [plus the Fuel Surcharge for the quarter].
- Rumpke bag service for trash cost will be $10.00 / month = $30.99 per quarter. (If you also do recycling along with the bag service, this is an additional $1.22 per month, which then brings the total to $33.66/qtr.) [plus the Fuel Surcharge for the quarter]
- Pickup of Trash & Recycling Services began with Rumpke on February 7th, 2025.
- The Standard Service Option for full service is a 95-Gallon Trash Cart and a 64-Gallon Recycling Cart – which is the same as what the previous Kimble provider had for the full-service cart sizes.
- Www.rumpke.com is the website for Rumpke Trash & Recycling services.
- Hinckley residents have the option of using a 65-gallon recycle cart or a 95-gallon recycle cart for no additional charge.

Hinckley Township has contracted with a single hauler, Rumpke, for trash and recycling. The current contract runs through January 31st of 2030.

RUMPKE Customer Service is also available to: discuss recycling options, address questions on collection dates and times, solid waste vs. yard waste, bulk item pick-up, recycling, pricing, partial year residency and vacation holds.
Vacant properties within Hinckley Township are to be handled by Rumpke; If you have a vacant property, Rumpke is requesting that you contact them directly to discuss, and update them every three months, prior to the next “quarter”. (Rumpke “quarters” are February-April, May-July, August-October, and November-January.) Please contact Rumpke at 1.800.828.8171.
Residents should call Rumpke directly if they need to report an issue on trash day.
- Friday is Hinckley’s designated trash/recycling pick up day.
- Trash and recycling should be at curbside the night before or by 6:00 a.m. on Friday.
- Be mindful of inclement weather when putting trash out the night before (i.e. heavy rain and high winds).
- If any of the following holidays fall on a weekday, services occurring after the holiday will be delayed by one day: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
