Jim Burns

Jim and his wife, Wendy, residents of Hinckley for 26 years, have raised 3 children, Lane, Ann, and JJ.  Jim won his seat as Trustee by one vote! He is grateful for the opportunity to serve his community. With tremendous enthusiasm and a light-hearted but persistent attitude he has completed many large projects for the Township while saving the township many hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Jim is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Chemistry and a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University, summa cum laude, with an Executive MBA. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Master.  Jim started his own company in 2002 providing design, engineering, manufacturing, and sales services to domestic manufacturers.  For the past 20 years, he has volunteered at the Strongsville Senior Center teaching wood shop classes.  He has dedicated 25 years with Boy Scout Troop 226 in Strongsville as a scout leader and supervisor of high adventure expeditions.

Jim is driven in his job as Trustee to improve the condition of the roads in the Township advocating for increased funding to short-circuit a growing problem. Under his watch he has transformed the Township Service Department to be more independent of contracted services hiring four very talented service employees to compelte more road repair, drainage, and maintenance work in-house.

Jim currently serves as liaison to the Service Department (Roads and Bridges), Township buildings, cemeteries and parks.
