Board of Zoning Appeals - Public Hearings (Updated)

The Board of Zoning Appeals will hold two hybrid (in person or virtual) public hearings on June 23, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. 1st Hearing - Appeal from Decision of Zoning Inspector (AP0254 - Sercia-Mills) and 2nd Hearing - Conditional Use Request (AP0255 - TireMax). Zoning Commission Continued Public Hearing - Text Amendment Proposal

The Zoning Commission will hold a hybrid continued public hearing on June 3, 2021 to hear public comment on proposed Zoning Amendments. Click here for Legal Notice and proposed changes. (Hybrid = in person at 1410 Ridge Road and virtual through the Zoom Room.)

Hinckley Community Garden Registration

Any Township resident interested in a Community Garden plot, please contact the Administration Office at 330.278.4181 to register. There are approximately 8 raised garden beds to choose from - first come first basis. Click here for more details.

Community Garden for Hinckley Twp Residents

Located between the Fire Station and Service Garage (Ridge Road), the fenced Community Garden offers fourteen 8 x 8 raised beds and are available by registration (first come first serve). Complete attached application and drop off at the Township Administration Office - a garden plot will be assigned at that time. 

HHS Students - Spring Cleaning Opportunites

Highland High School Students looking for volunteer opportunities have been organized by staff to assist senior citizens in providing free spring cleaning in their yards. Anyone interested for themselves, a neighbor or friend can contact Tina McKeen at 216-385-0030 or [email protected]

Emergency Snow Removal for Hinckley Twp Seniors

The Emergency Snow Removal Program supported by the Hinckley Fire Dept Community Benefit Fund, Inc. for Hinckley Township qualifying seniors will begin accepting applications for the 2020-2021 season October 1st. This is an annual process, even if you qualified last year. For more information click on Community Tab and go to Programs and services.

Cemetery Rules and Regulations Updated

Changes were made to the Cemetery Rules and Regulations effective July 1, 2019. Click on Community Tab and Go to Cemeteries for more details. A friendly reminder that items that are prohibited must be removed in accordance to the Rules and Regulations. This is to respectfully notice that in mid-June, the Service Dept. & Sexton will walk the cemetery grounds & begin removing items that are prohibited or have become overgrown. 

Notice to Residents re: Trash Services

Hinckley Township awarded an exclusive contract for all residential refuse and recycling collection to Kimble Recycling and Disposal effective February 3, 2020. Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code, Section 505.27, other trash haulers servicing Hinckley were noticed to terminate services at residential units effective February 2, 2020. Kimble Companies will bill in advance, a quarterly service fee for weekly trash collection based on service level chosen. Residents should receive an invoice from Kimble, for February - April 2020 by the end of February.

Seeking Support to Assist in Grant Writing for Fire Department

Chief Grossenbaugh and Fire Liaison, Melissa Augustine are currently looking for volunteers within the community who specialize in grant writing to assist Hinckley Fire Department in attaining grant funds. Specifically, identifying grants available to fire departments at the state and federal levels, and sharing in the document preparation for such grants.
